Hi Guys!
This is my first post here, I've been lurking around for a while and now I decided to create an Account here.

So, my cheap "600w" generic brandless power supply is giving me some troubles. whenever I try to run a torture test using prime95, my PSU gives this hissing noise, kinda like a lawn sprinkler sound. and the power cable becomes really HOT. also there's this burning-plastic smell. I'm planning to replace it with an entry-level model from a reliable brand.

I used this power supply calculator for me to know my ideal Power Supply Wattage.
It gives me a Recommended Power Supply Wattage of 373w

So I guess 400w-450w would be enough for me.

What cheap yet reliable Power Supply brand and model would you recommend me? my Budget is just around $40 ( or Php 1,700.00, I'm form the Philippines) or less.

I checked newegg.com and their prices are almost the same as prices of PC parts here in the Philippines.

I'm thinking of getting Corsair VS450. or Cougar SL400? what do you guys think?
Here's the Complete Specs of my PC:

CPU: AMD FX-8320 (OC@4.2, 1.39v, stable)
HSF: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
MoBo: Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2 rev1.1 (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4311#ov)
RAM: Kingston 4GB 1333mhz DDR3
Video Card: Sapphire ATI Radeon HD7750 GDDR5 1GB
HDD/DVD-RW ROM:
(1) 320GB WD Caviar Blue
(1) 1TB Hitatchi HDD
(1) DVD-RW Drive

Thanks!

UPDATE:

Here's the List of PSUs that I'm choosing from:
-FSP HEXA HE500 (Eff>80%) 500w ( http://pcx.com.ph/components/power-supplies/fsp-hexa-he500-eff-80-500w.html )

-COUGAR ST500W ( http://pcx.com.ph/components/power-supplies/cougar-st500-500w.html )

-Corsair VS450 ( http://www.tipidpc.com/viewitem.php?iid=20329506 )

-Huntkey VP450 450w ( http://pcx.com.ph/components/power-supplies/huntkey-vp450-450w.html )

-Thermaltake LitePower (500w) (http://pcx.com.ph/components/power-supplies/thermaltake-litepower-500w.html)

What Can you guys tell me about FSP, Cougar and Corsair brands? those are the Top 3 from my List.

Thanks Again!

Just buy any "80" certified PSU and you won't have any issues unless you've bought a bad unit. Efficiency means less heat and less money going out through the electrical socket. Both wins.
