Do I pair my AMD cpu with an AMD graphics card, or does it not matter?

I'm deciding between upgrading my 560ti to either a 660ti or an HD 7950 to go along with my new fx-4300 cpu. Is there really an advantage to using an AMD graphics card with an AMD cpu, or should I make my decision based on raw performance and benchmarks?

I did see an article recently in which Nvidia apparently work better with AMD chips as supposed to AMD graphic cards, afraid I cant find the article but its safe to say that it doesnt really matter which brand of card you go for.

No there isn't actually. though i think i read an article that AMD cpu's favor SLI though i didn't read it funnly so i really didn't know what happened at last. since your not gonna SLI id say you can use AMD one or the 660 ti one. they both should be equal in performance. so get the one that affordable.
by the way isn't FX 4300 a little weak for 7950/660ti?

I think it was here on Tom's Hardware, but it wasn't testing single graphics cards, It was testing whether SLI or Crossfire worked better with AMD FX chips.

I have not seen that article but I have an old AMD Motherboard that has GeForce Boost built into it which I guess favors nvidia cards and makes them actually run smoother??. I have an AMD FX-6300 @ 4.3GHz 1.27v and EVGA GTX 760 SC 2GB and it works like a champ.

i believe nvidia cards can help amd cpu's by relieving their burden a bit somehow

there was a article about it but cant find it
