We are a house with several laptops and there are a few files that we use from multiple laptops. So I wanted to find a wireless external drive that 2 or more laptops can connect to and update a central file. Kinds like a central file server but without the need for wired connections or an actual OS system.

I have searched.. but I am struggling to find exactly what I want.

This comes close..

but it is a few years old and I can't find many places to buy it.

Most I come across are huge on the smartphone and streaming media. I considered just going with a external cloud storage provider but the main file I want to store is our financial data, so a little hesitant about that.

Is there a simple, wireless external disk storage option out there?

Thanks.. I already have a wireless network via the fios router so was hoping to just connect a stand alone disk to the existing wireless. I am surprised there is not a demand for such a device. I did find that home cloud solutions was a better search option and looking at those.
