Which CPU to get for 7870

I am looking to upgrade my i5350 cpu. Dont know what to get. Have a sapp 7870 card as well. I play planet side, far cry and such. I want to use the oculus rift when it comes out as well as Star Citizen. Any good ideas. I have recently been told that for a 7870 that I need a AMD CPU.

Oh you already have a 3570K ? Don't worry about upgrading right now that's like the best gaming CPU out there and more than enough for a 7870. The next gen "haswell" chips coming soon will only offer 10% increase over your current cpu and you will have to buy a brand new motherboard. I was thinking you were using a first gen i5 not a 3rd lol.

You have to remember that you are also going to have to buy a new motherboard regardless of AMD or Intel, unless you buy another
1156 chip but that would be rather pointless.

Wait what CPU do you currently have ?? I am not aware of an i5 350, there is an i3 350..
