Hi I'm thinking about buying a new heat sink upgrading from the stock hsf. I found a deal for 24 bucks on the enermax t40 but I've been thinking about the hyper 212 which is better ? Also i have 10 bucks left over whats a good fan I should buy for a push pull config, or anything else I could get for 10 bucks?

Solution
Use the new fan and the stock fan, sure...that should work...play with the two in different push/pull setups with Speedfan running to determine which gives you better temps... (I'd shut down the computer between 1-2 hour Prime95 runs while tracking with Speedfan and swap the fans then...NOT while the computer is running, ofcourse :p )

Edit: Though I will tell you the temps won't be ideal...since your using 1 stock and 1 aftermarket...but its a starting point...Or wait till you have $14 more and buy the 212 AND the 2 fans I suggested. This way = most happiness :)

By using 2 of the Cougars it will be noticeably more quiet, yes.

From the website, for you too lazy, didn't read types :p
PWM-FUNCTION
PWM stands for Pulse Width Modulation. The 4-Pin connector allows the mainboard to control the fan speed from 800-1500RPM.

HIGH-VORTEX-AIRFLOW WITH TURBINE BLADE & FRAME UNIQUE DESIGN
Optimum airflow, air pressure & extremely silent performance

DIVERSION GROOVE BLADE DESIGN
Innovative blade design focus air flow & optimum cooling efficiency

ANTI-VIBRATION PAD DESIGN
Reduce the vibrations efficiently & silent operation

AERO-DYNAMICAL DESIGN
Air-inlet with optimal aero-dynamical design reducing noisy air turbulences

HYDRO-DYNAMIC-BEARING TECHNOLOGY
HDB runs more smoothly with no friction, make it quietly & durability(MTBF300,000hrs)

TOOL-LESS FIXED PINS
Rubber fixed pins also reduces vibrations (fan run more quietly) and Tool-less makes it easy to mount, with no tools required

I have both of these HSFs on very similar systems. There is virtually no difference in performance. The EVO lacks the grooves between the heatpipes, otherwise they are nearly identical.

Get the better bargain (212+) and spend your money elsewhere on your system.-COLgeek
