Help! PSU Confusion

? There is a single 8 pin that you use to plug into the motherboard. It provides extra power for the CPU. The link then says there are two 6+2pin PCIe power plugs that go into the video card. Fan controllers, LEDs, etc usually get the old style molex plugs. Sata drives get the newer sata plug.

Not sure which PSU you should get. I have no idea what's going into that computer.

The sata data cables do. I doesn't seem to make sense to me to plug a fan controller into the board however. Wouldn't the board try to control the fans to? It should get power from the PSU, and have a spot on the back for the 3 or 4 pin fans to plug into . Why would a fan controller plug into the motherboard?

Good point, thought he was speaking of the fan from the CPU heatsink. The fan controller I'm pretty sure only plugs into case fans.

It's a gaming build. Sapphire Vapor X 7970 GHz, 120GB Samsung Pro SSD, 500 GB HDD, GD65 Gaming, that sort of stuff. I was just confused on what gets plugged into what, and which device comes with the cables, the psu or the device. Thanks for all the help.
