I'm trying to build the best possible rig for $500
Just gonna play LoL, WoW, Planetside 2, nothing too graphic dependent
I won't need an OS, mainly concerned about MOBO, GPU, PSU, and if I will need 3rd party cpu cooler, I won't be over clocking, don't see a need for the above mentioned games.

So far, I have:
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

Total: $464.46
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

I am wondering if I could use one of my old computer cases, and will it have enough air flow, if not, could you possibly recommend a case for me?

Thank you in advanced

Looks just fine. Good choice on the mobo, can always dump a FX-8350 in there later.

As for the case, depending on the case.

Why not mod your old case? Cut holes, etc. If it goes to hell, then buy a new case :)

[EDIT] As for a case, depends what you like and your budget, but you can get something really nice like the Corsair 300R for under $100

i feel like you could get a much bigger HDD for a bit more, and you could probably get 1600 ram for the same price or just cheaper 1333 ram.
also not sure whats with that fan?? that doesnt look like something anyone should get.

any case recommendations? I really have no preference, just as long as it's black. I have no clue on what case would fit me best, never bought a case, usually just had some lying around lol

you think I'll need the airflow? it's gonna sit on top of a desk, nothing surrounding it

Not true. Airflow has nothing to do with having more holes or less. If you were to stick two fans in an Antec Lanboy Air, I'll bet you get terrible airflow.

pretty sure that is a good way to generalize it for low end cases, dont think companies are spending much time researching the air flow of their 30$ cases. even if the airflow was inferior with the stock 2 fans you have the ability to add more on cases with more meshing.

feel like youre nit picking, in the same case having more fans = more airflow....saying that basic cookiecutter cases are going to have dramatically different airflow patterns is a stretch and being able to find someone with data or testing on it would be just as unlikely.

No. More fans on any case != better airflow. More fans only pushes in more air. The more fans you have, the more chances you have of obstructing your other fans. For example, if you have one front intake and then a bottom intake, the bottom intake fan blowing air upward will be a blockade to the air pulled in from the front intake. So they both counteract one another. That is poor airflow. Ever took physics class?

Not trying to be rude or demeaning. Just trying to explain my thoughts. If I offended you in any way, I sincerely apologize. :) Sorry.
