Question about Dell U2312HM

Dell U2312HM has a 8ms response time and people are saying that there are no ghosting. How is that possible when my LG W2242T with 5 ms response has very visible ghosting? Or maybe it has a defect?

Response time is not an exact science, nor does it represent average conditions. Response that is stated for a monitor is least amount of time it takes for a pixel to change color. Not all colors just a particular shade whatever it may be. All other times are thrown out with the trash.

As for 8ms and no ghosting, some of it depends on how your brain processes the images your eyes transmits to it. Some people can more easily notice ghosting than others; which I guess is not a good thing. Ghosting is an inherent downside of LCD monitors it is simply a limitation of the technology itself.

I can sometime see ghosting on my 6ms and 5ms H-IPS panel monitors in very fast pace game play, but I would say it is somewhat of a rare occurance. I have also notice ghosting on my 2ms TN panel monitor as well, but less often than on my H-IPS monitors.
