I just ordered a nVidia GeForce GT 610 silent video card but i just now thought my computer which is said to have 305 watts may not be able to run with it. Am i right? I hope not because i dont want to buy another power source as well. It has 4 gb of ram and a dual core 3.0 ghz processor and it is the mini tower version.

a 300w PSU for a 29w card?? really? LOL
Theres even an article on an msi site that says it needs 16a on the 12v rail (ie - 192W) LMAO! It does not even use external power.

You will me more than fine running 3 of those cards if you could. They do not even use half the power a pcie slot provides.

Ok, I feel much better knowing that I should be ok power wise, but heres the final issue. Some people are saying it wont fit inside Dell OptiPlex desktops. Now, I don't have the desk top version, I have the tower version, but some people are even saying it wont fit in some bigger dell towers.

I know the situation, seen this many times, here is your PC below

Opt960Inside2.jpg

The space between back panel and CPU cooler is 7.5 inches, which is applicable for cards with big cooler, if the card is skinny, as shown on the picture, it could be much longer.

Now about power requirements. 7750 can work on your 300 watt power supply, despite phony 400 watt manufacturer requirement, if in doubt - Dell offers 7750 as upgrade to your PC here http://accessories.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=A6523076&mfgpid=192262 go to compatibility list, you will see 960 listed there.

So, please provide your GPU model, so I can look at newegg or Amazon for pictures, will take me 1 minutes to verify fit!

Done.

Graphic Processing Unit, GPU for short, common abbreviation for video card, or graphic card - it is short, easier to type abbreviation.

If you want to go with your GPU choice (you can go to 7750 if you want more power, but it will cost you more as well, around $110 plus shipping) list your model or provide link so I can see if it fit, easy for me like 2+2=4!!
