my brothers Pc keeps freezing up. usually it will be fine the first few minutes on startup then after you run a couple of minutes it will freeze then after that it will freeze randomly ( sometimes on startup browsing webpage and just about anything ).
at first we thought it might be the Ram but we removed 2 sticks of the ram and it continued so we placed them back in and took out the other 2 and we got the same result??? could it still be the ram Ive also heard of a faulty video card doing that. What Could Cause This?

More about : freezing

Try re-installing windows. If you bought it with windows pre-installed then you will either have to buy an upgrade version or a OEM version, if you would like to install it on another system.

well i dont have to windows install disk the other person that built does... but i may have found what is wrong with it now... after removing the case and turning it on to test if it was a bad ram stick i found that there was a dead fan on his mother board... in theory im thinking that the pc is fine untill that section of the Mb heats up then causes it to jam.. could this be the cuase?

Overheating of the CPU or motherboard chipset can cause the system to freeze.

I've also encountered a faulty SATA data cable that would cause a system to appear frozen.
