Hi guys is my first time here on the forum, im really hoping to get some help lol...

Ok first im just jumping off 1 computer and building another one i think is time for it !

Current PC
(i will be selling all this also a XFX gtx 295) if anyone is interested let me know !
Asus p5n-t Deluxe 780i Sli Mobo
Q9550
4x1 Gbs Geil 800mhz Ram
Ocz 60gb SSD + 180gb 7200
HD 7770 (Will keep this for my new Rig)

Alrit i just bought a new EVGA Motherboard Z75 SLI, i will probably get the i5-2400 (Or if you guys have a better idea but this will be my Budget)..

The only thing thats concerns me is that i know the Mobo supports Memory Speed of: DDR3 - 1066, 1333, 1600, 1866, 2133(OC), 800.
Link for the mobo here

The Processor like i said will probably be the i5-2400 But as i see on the specs for it only supports DDR3-1066/1333, Link for the processor here , so here is the question will a 1600mhz Ram work on it if yes how? if No i just get a 1333Mhz lol.

Any help will be very welcome thanks

It'll work fine without any overclocking

Do not get that motherboard. one of the reasons why it's expensive is because it allows overclocking of processors (which the i5-2400 doesn't have unlocked multiplier and you can only overclock it by around 300mhz) Get a H67 motherboard if you're going with the i5-2400

I would just go for a i5-3570k (for roughly 30-40 pounds more??? and if that can't be done, get at least the 2400k with a cheaper P67 or Z68 motherboard) and then save up for decent a heatsink later on since you would be able to overclock it and make it last a lot longer)

And 1600 mhz ram would work with the 15-2400. but it just wouldn't be beneficial performance wise

I really don't see a problem with your current rig since the processor really isn't a bottleneck in terms of performance. Even with the new system, you wouldn't see much of a performance boost since your GPU will bottleneck the processor.

and what is your budget?

Edit: didn't see you already bought the motherboard lol.

Well. in that case, definitely save up for a 2500k or a 3570k. otherwise you would have wasted money on a motherboard for features you can't use :/

For the price you're considering on spending for the other 35xx processors, i would highly recommend adding another 10-20 pounds for the 3570k (which is the only one that can be overclocked) and then getting a 3rd party heat sink later on and overclocking it.
