So, I was originally considering buying a pre-made computer for something like $1,300, but found out that building your own is way more efficient. I'm a little nervous, yeah, but I've seen a few building videos and it looks fairly straight-forward.
Ideally, I'd like to run games like Arma2, Skyrim, Farcry, etc. on high settings, preferably maxed out. I've linked my build below here. I'm just using the i5 3570k because it seems to be a common CPU for gaming and doesn't seem to differ much from the i7 processors I've seen in terms of noticeable performance. People have also really recommended gigabyte motherboards to me. I dunno. It's subject to change.
I'm not planning on buying the mouse and keyboard. I more or less did it for an idea of an overall price. Mainly for shiggles. But here's the build itself! Any feedback etc. is appreciated.

If you overclock the 3570k, the D3H is okay... but if you want to stay with Gigabyte and get more performance, get the UD3H if your budget permits.

The ASRock Z77 Extreme6 is pretty good too.

EDIT: The thing with Gigabyte is that it's really hard to beat them bang-for-buck wise!

If you don't plan on overclocking your CPU, I would go with the regular 3570... saves you about 20-30$ and you'll get the same performance.

If you ever decide to go crossfire with that rig, you might need to upgrade your PSU (something around 750-800 watts). If not though, what you have is plenty.

If this is your budget, this is a great built. If you are looking to save on something, the SSD could go (but I would personally keep it! lol once you go SSD you can't go back).

Nice build! Have fun!

Whether by arse or class you'v managed to make a very good build :).
Only thing I would change of that is the SSD to a Samsung 840 120GB. Its a cheaper drive that is still very good.

Do you intend to overclock at all? Crossfire/SLI?
Just if not, there are some changes you could make that could make it cheaper, or more expensive depending.

Thanks! And I'm pretty sure I'll overclock it at some point, but I doubt I'll be using crossfire/SLI unless it's something seriously worth investing in. What kind of changes would you recommend?
