I just ordered the above video card as to upgrade from the Q43/45 chip set that i have now which gives me about 10 fps. What frame rate should this card give me playing games on medium settings? Here is a link to a picture of it since some people confuse a different fan card for the one im talking about.

A GT610 is a low end card and not fit for gaming at all. It might be a bit harsh, but if you had done some research before buying it, you would've known.

Depends on what game. It's a very low end card that performs on par with top of the line cards from 10 years ago. Old games will run great, but newer titles will struggle greatly.

I did research it, and im sorry, im not a techy computer guy, but everywhere i checked it said it is good for gaming. Especially on tiger direct, where i ordered it from, it praised it for its physics engine and decent modern gaming abilities. What should i do then? can i return it to tiger direct? what one should i get then? im wanting to keep it around $60, maybe $70. I am aware that wont get me a real top end one at all, i just need one to run modern games.

If you already have it, and have that kind of a budget; you may as well keep it. As far as what it can run goes, just experiment with different games on different settings and see what you can get away with it.

Good luck.

P.S Whatever you heard from Tiger Direct was a complete fabrication of the truth...

Ok, I appreciate your help, Thank you. I at least hope it can decently run World of Tanks and Napoleon:Total war, But i guess time will tell. and here is a link to the tigerdirect page. if you scroll down you'll see the description. If you were not a tech savvy guy, like me, then wouldnt that description seem appealing to you to, or is it just me?

Yes, I completely see your point but that's just marketing for you. They wouldn't put "Buy this very poor card from Nvidia, it delivers low frames at low settings in average 720p" hahahaha. No but seriously, for a non-techie it is misleading; I think it just goes to show that research is vital when buying products that you're not sure of.

Thats true. Would i be better off with this card? http://www.galaxytechus.com/usa/productview.aspx?id=186
Again, Thank you.

That is a better card, but still low end. What is your budget? Could you stretch to an AMD 6750/7750 or a 6770/7770? You will be much more pleased with the results from those cards.

For fut if its a nvidia card, ignore the first number, and last number and look for a 5 or higher in the second number, Geforce X5X

If you actually want a gaming card get a X6X card like the nvidia 660

I run all the games including Resident evil 5-6 and even assasin's creed on NVIDIA GT610 and trust me they all run well, never hang or crush in the middle.
Note: I keep all my drivers up to date along with my windows 8 pro 64bit.

My configuration:

Ram: 8GB
Graphics card: Nvidia Geforce GT610 (Asus silent edition 2GB)
Motherboard: Gigabye
OS: Windows 8 pro
CPU: Intel core i3

It is a fermi based card. Which is not for gaming but for multimedia purposes. Casual gaming will be okay .
Examples of games like : League of Legends, HoN , Counter Strike Source, Battlefield 4 ( With i3 -3210 , 4GB Rams should be fine ) , Dota 2 and so on.
I would suggest HD7750 :)

I have a ASUS NVIDIA GeForce GT 610 Slient Card and it is very useful at most times when video cards are about to die. They are purposely meant to give your PC a very long lifespan so it would survive for about 2 or more years.

I bought this card today, because my ATI Radeon HD 5570 die with lots of blue screens so i couldn't use my PC that much and i had no money to replace it so i got a slient card that would help my computer lived until i get enough money to buy a new one. Truthfully, You can't play games with it but you can stream videos at that highest frame rate. That's the benefits of having a slient cards.

I bought gt610 a year ago, i bought it for $50. I thought I can play flashgames smoothly but I was wrong. That is how bad gt610 is.

less than a minute ago

I recently bought a PC with specs from '05 to replace my even older PC with specs from '01, and I got a plain PCI (my PC doesn't have any PCIe slots) version of this card to do some casual gaming and some 3D modeling. This card got a 26,000 on AquaMark3, which is roughly equivalent to the onboard graphics of a modern non-gaming laptop in my experience. I never had any interest or expectations of playing newer games. Older games cost less and haven't gotten any less fun (especially since I've never had the chance to do any kind of gaming beyond crappy flash games and runescape before) so I thought that this would be a good card for me. I'm able to play games like Half-Life 2, Far Cry, Halo: Combat Evolved, and Fable: The Lost Chapters on full details without any noticeable artifacts or lagging, which is a huge improvement over the onboard graphics. I had a small problem with Far Cry BSODing when I loaded a save file, but that was because I hadn't applied all the patches. Once I applied the 1.4 patch, it worked fine. One thing you might want to keep an eye out for is overheating. I zip tied a large ~120mm fan I cannibalized from a computer that used to run Windows ME onto this graphics card and it never goes above 44C now, and idles at 37C. My copy also came with a tool to overclock the card, which hasn't made a noticeable difference except on benchmarks and rendering 3d models with blender.
