eSATA drive not appearing anywhere, even bios

I've just built a new pc, and the mobo (GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD4H ) has 2 esata ports on the back. I have a docking station (Rosewill RX-DUS100 2.5" & 3.5" SATA to USB2.0 & eSATA Hard Drive Docking Station), which powers on and the hdd spins up, but it won't show up in device manager, disk management, or even in the bios. Although i'm not sure if it should appear in the bios, or where exactly it would be. My internal SATA drives show up in 2 different places in the bios, dependant on the controller. I have Win 7 Ultimate 64bit.

This docking station along with the same cable and hdd work fine on another computer, however that pc has an eSATA port on the front of the case.

I've tried replugging multiple times, both while the pc is on and off. I installed the Marvell drivers for the mobo, also rolled back the drivers to built in ones. AHCI is enabled in the bios. I've also tried IDE mode, no change. I could not find any specific bios settings for enabling eSATA, but I did reset all bios settings and updated the bios.

Hopefully I didn't forget any info. Please help :)

I certainly appreciate the help, but as i said, I could not find any specific bios settings for enabling eSATA, but I did reset all bios settings and updated the bios. Any other ideas?

esata is either the gigbyte controller or the jmicron. I forget which. let me pull up your manual.

edit - they're part of the gigabyte controller (you dont have the third jmicron one). Make sure its enabled in the bios and you have the ports noted below empty. You will also need to have loaded the windows drivers for this controller.

* The eSATA connectors will become unavailable when the GSATA 6 and GSATA 7 connectors are being used. Refer to 2-6, "Peripherals," for using the eSATA connectors.
