hi now a days I've been a audiophile, love loud music with deep bass, so em plannin to add a sound card for my moderate gaming rig, btw i've some really good speakers (kenwood Hi-Fi, bass reflex 100*2rms) connected to a system (single 3.5mm jack) via a 60w rms cheap external amp, it gives good sound and can really handle low frequencies, which can help in moving mountains :p , but em planning to further improve sound at cheap,

requirements: i want a sound cant(value for money), with better amplifying power, more than two channel is not required.

system spec:
intel c2q 8300, with CM hyper evo 212
gigabyte g41m combo
4gb ddr3 @ 1333mhz
ati HD 5770
acer 24" 1080p
corsair CX 430 v2
500gb hdd
and of course those kenwood speakers that 've mentioned above.

Why not try software equalizers first.

You know amping up the line level audio just leads to hitting the amps max output sooner or even over-driving it right? Unless your sound card is real bad, you should not need that.

Either way, I find the Creative X-fi(hardware based ones at least) have good enough bass for most users and better than most onboard cards. They also happen to push louder sound as well.

Another option may be a cheap(second hand) equalizer unit to connect between the computer and the amp you are running. I find actual analog equalizers to be better sounding than many of the equalizers on sound cards now.

Another fun idea is a the DIY bass boost :)

Please not that is a single channel and has to be done 2 times. Most dip 8 opamps have 2 opamps in them so you need two chips to do this or an 4 opamp chip(they make them too, just not dip 8 for clear reasons).
