Need help with psu???

Solution

For a system using a single GeForce GTX 660 (non-Ti) graphics card NVIDIA specifies a minimum of a 450 Watt or greater system power supply that has a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 24 Amps or greater and that has at least one 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connector.

Total Power Supply Wattage is NOT the crucial factor in power supply selection!!! Total Combined Continuous Power/Current Available on the +12V Rail(s) rated at 45°C - 50°C ambient temperature, is the critical factor.

The PSU looks compatible with the case, but could you provide us with a picture of the inside of your computer?

I'd go for a different brand of PSU though. What hardware do you want to run on it? Same as in the product details on Amazon?

i could take a picture of the inside of my pc, im buying new parts to play games better, whats wrong with the psu brand?

The Rosewill Lightning, Capstone, Capstone Modular, Silent Night, Tachyon and Fortress series are the only models worthy of consideration.

The Rosewill Stallion series should be avoided. It only has a 1 year warranty. The industry standard warranty period is 3 years.

Your PC case uses an ATX PS/2 form factor power supply. That would include most of the power supplies sold.

What is the system configuration that you are powering? If you're planning to add a discrete graphics card or any other new components, please list their brand and model number.

Wow very good answer! what happens when i want to upgrade something like my ram or cpu or mobo? will i need a new psu?

Upgrading RAM and/or CPU with your existing motherboard is no problem.

Upgrading to a new motherboard and CPU will depend on the CPU model that you are upgrading to. It shouldn't be a problem either unless you're planning on some extreme overclocking. FYI, your existing computer case only handles a micro-ATX form factor motherboard.

If you were buying a motherboard that is able to handle two graphics cards in 2-way SLI or CrossFireX mode then the Corsair CX430 is insufficient.
