I have been kicking around the same computer for a while and recently upgraded it to a new Full ATX case due to my old one being damaged during my move across country.

My question is my computer keeps freezing during gaming and i find my fps are dropping down to single digits on game i been playing on the same setup for years that previously never dropped below 60fps...What would you guys recommend for a good upgrade to my setup without spending a ton of money. I noticed the company that made my graphic cards are out of business.

HAF X full atx case
Q6600 Black Edition
Asus Striker Extreme II
16GB ram
256GB SSD Intel
2x BFG 8600GTS
800 Watt powersupply

You need to define, "spending a ton of money".

I will assume that means under $150. I would recommend the 7750 @ $85, the 7770 @ $110, the GTX650Ti @ $130 or the GTX650Ti Boost @ $150. If you plan on spending more than that, a 7850 2GB would be the next step @ $175.

All would be much faster than your SLI'd 8600 GTS and use less power.
