I recently build a computer and was hoping to get some opinions from the community.

Corsair TX750

MSI Z77A-GD65

i7-3770k

Hyper 212 Evo

Corsair Vengeance 8gb (2 x 4 gb) DDR3 1600 MHz

Samsung 250gb SSD

ASUS HD 7850 Direct CU 2

Antec 1100

I bought most of these from sales so my total came to ~$1000

Please tell me what you think of this build, thanks.

Hi Stanley!

Did you get an HDD with that? If not, I'd recommend adding at least a 1TB HDD, for storing your documents (videos, pics, etc). The SSD will be great for the OS and other programs and games.

I think you should have gotten a better video card to match your cpu, like a 7950 ~ 7970 for amd or a 660 Ti ~ 670 for nvidia.

You could also have gotten a lesser wattaged power supply, maybe in the 550~600w range, unless you're planning on doing a crossfire later, which would justify the 750w.

That said, it's a good build, and will perform nicely.

What do you intend to use it for? Gaming? Or some sort of productivity-oriented usage? Gaming doesn't really need an i7 CPU, since most games can't take advantage of so many cores/threads. Typically, you'll get more use out of an i5-3570k instead. You might be able to use the difference to bump your GPU up to a 7870 if you do that. Of course, if you're not gaming, you'll certainly be fine.

thanks guys for the reply, I will probably get an HDD as storage. The use of my computer is for gaming and general internet browsing. In the future, I might change my graphic card to fit my cpu. That being said, if I get a better gpu for example, 7XX series or 8XXX series when they come out. Do I need to change to a newer version processor?
