Razer Taipan vs Imperator?

I'm a FPS gamer, upgrading from my decade old mouse. Both mice listed are the same price in the US, which one is better for FPS?

The Taipan supports a higher DPI (8200 vs 6400) as is more expensive that the Imperator at Newegg. Both have similar ratings. I would consider the shape of the 2 of them. If you are right handed, then the Imperator looks like it would be more comfortable for long gaming sessions to me. Really seems a matter of preference at this point.

Will the increased DPI make any sort of significant difference to me? I'm not sure I completely understand the concept of DPI, could you clarify a little bit?

    Thanks for responding! :)
  3. More DPI means more sensitivity. Good for when adjusting/balancing accuracy and precision by providing a wider range of settings.

Ahh, that's what I thought. I normally play with extremely high sensitivity, will the DPI for the Imperator be enough or should I go for the Taipan?
  5. Both are very good. There is no bad choice. Look at the shape and decide which is best for you.

Thank you! I will probably go with the Imperator as I am right handed and it is somewhat cheaper.
  7. Good choice (I would pick the same)!!! Have fun!!!
