Hello & thanks for taking a look.
I have a Asus m4n82 deluxe with bios 0906 & have an x2 unlocked to an x4. M y question is,should I update bios as its a 2009 bios & if I were to update could I still unlock my cpu ?
Never updated a bios but first time for everything.

I do not think you can OC any more, unlocking the 2 extra cores is limiting you now. I have never heard of anyone with a high OC AND 2 unlocked cores at the same time, that is just stretching things.

Take a chance or don't, I would not if I did not have the cash for a new build. It will be a huge risk.

There are 11 bios updates from that 0906 bios, most address new cpu's. The most recent one's address the voltage and ratio functions. Asus recommends you update bios in succession because apparently one is built upon the code of the previous one and not always a complete bios. So that gives you 11 chances to brick your board or at least 8 till you start getting to the cpu upgrades. Use EZ flash 2, not the Asus update if you decide to take a chance. But most recommend not doing it.

Thank you,i'll leave well enough alone. Any thoughts, ideas on my cpu voltage ?
Presently 1.344V & my x4 b50 is at 3.4 & it will boot at 3.5 but two minutes of prime 95 & shut down. Again thanks for your help.
