It will work no problem.

Quick if you are following this thread, look on newegg shell shocker. It maybe better ram for cheaper (depending on the timing of your current ram)

I wouldn't say your ssd is overkill but your motherboard definitely is. I don't regret my ssd purchase but I regret buying my expensive motherboard (about the same prices as yours).
 


The heat spreaders on that RAM would interfere with his chosen CPU cooler.
