I have a ASUS G73jh lappy, so core i7, 4gig ram, hd 5870 1 gig, couple of 500gig HDDs. I was wondering, would upgrading one of my HDDs to a SSD be the cheapest/easiest way to get a noticeable performance increase, or should I be looking at other components. Do plenty of gaming so I figured load times would decrease dramatically(always get into cod after the round has started, also the wife plays sim3 and it takes years just to load the damn game).

Read and write times will definitely improve; you'll notice a big difference in your boot up time as well. Since laptop components are generally pricey, a SSD probably is not only your most cost effective route, but also the most practical. You'll just have to clone your drive (be sure to align the SSD first) or re-install Windows (ideal).

Intel drives are very reliable, followed by Samsung these days. I hear good things about the Corsair drives also and even the SanDisks, to a lesser extent.
