First thing's first.. Here's my proposed build: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/VYvQ

...So this will be my first time building a computer, I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing here so please let me know if I'm making any rookie mistakes :) My main inspiration behind this was to build something to outperform my brother's recently bought Alienware ( http://www.dell.com/uk/p/alienware-x51/pd?oc=d00and57&model_id=alienware-x51 ) whilst still being cheaper/same price..

I'm looking for something I can use for gaming, something to play recent / upcoming games on high/ultra with a decent frame rate, I'm not too fussed about massively future proofing it, I'd be comfortable with upgrading my CPU/GPU at any point if need be...

So please any criticisms/improvements that could be made please let me know.
Thank you, :)

Yeah see that's something I was thinking.. But then after looking elsewhere most people where saying if you don't mind paying that bit more, it's worth getting the i7 as it's just a little better... Is it really not any better for gaming at all then?

You are basically shelling out an additional, what is it, $100? $100 for 0.5FPS increase. Just get the i5. This is why the 3570K is recommended over the 3770K for gaming. Only get the 3770K if you are video editing, encoding, etc. The only difference is that the i7 has hyper threading and the i5 doesn't.

I see, well thanks for that :) I'll change my i7 to an i5 then, that's £77 I can possibly spend on something else then.

I'd consider getting a 750W power supply. 620 is more than enough to run your system, but it won't be enough if you want to add a second GTX 670 in the future for SLI. I'd also look into a better cooler than the Hyper 212 evo. It's a really good cooler for the money, but if you want to overclock a lot I'd look into a Noctua NH-D14. Other than that it looks fine, since completelyrandomname already mentioned i5 vs i7.

Well I've been looking at getting a different power supple anyway, so i'll definitely take a look at that one! Thanks :)
As for the cooler, i'll also take a look at that.. but I don't really want to go too far over my 1K budget as I still need to buy myself a nice monitor etc..
