how to make parition of drives

I'm assuming you want to create a partition from an existing drive. If you are using Windows Vista or above you can do this by going to disk management find the drive you want to partition and choose shrink volume. You will then be asked for the amount of space you want to shrink which will then segment your drive and thus a new partition that you can assign a drive letter to. If you are using Windows XP or older you will need to use something like Gpart to shrink the drive to create the new partition.
