Should I wait for intel haswell?

I was planning on building my first PC in June-July. I got all my parts together and they all seem good. My CPU is i5 3350p (thinking of going to 3470) and for gpu I have the amd 7850 2gb.

Then, I found out about the new intel haswell processor coming out in June? I heard its gonna have a new socket and all. Lga 1105 or something?

My build right now is here: http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/

Again I am building in June-July so I'll buy parts around then. Haswell comes out in June. Should I get Haswell when it comes out or stick to ivy bridge? Will the new motherboards with 1105 be the same price? I'm not rich here so I cannot go over my budget. If anything, I should be cutting down on things!

What are your thoughts? Will prices of any of these items go down? I'm already over budget with this build and I"m thinking of going down to amd 7770.

Number one thing for me? I need a MOBO that is upgradeable. If haswell is around $200 and no more I'll grab a haswell and a mobo with that socket. I want my build to be upgradeable, so when my CPU or GPU becomes weak, I can swap in new ones. An i7 processor or an AMD 8000 series GPU. Can an h77 mobo handle this?

I don't need OC or dual GPUS just yet.

So thoughts? Anything I should know or cut down on? PSU I would prefer modular since wires scare me lol. Thanks!

Not really...build what you want to build...haswell is a real world 6-7% gain over Ivy. There is a new socket...so if you build intel and don't go haswell then you're on a dead socket with your current build. Though, don't expect Ivy to get cheaper much after haswell comes out...that's not the intel way, they gouge you until they don't make it any longer, and then the suppliers gouge you for old stock that's hard to find because Intel changes sockets all the time.

You could consider an AMD build which wouldn't require a new socket for steamroller, but it's entirely up to you.

I see. Will haswell mobod and processors be more expensive? Will the difference between ivy and haswell be a lot in terms of price?

For an amd build i dont know much about amd processors. Which proeccsor do they have thats equivalent to an i5? What about for mobos and their chipsets?

If i had the money i would go haswell no doubt. I like intel better than amd. However im concerned about whether the mobos wil be too pricey for me.

If i do go ivy, will my build with a 3470 last long? When it does become outdated, will i7 lga 1115 still be around?

Based on my memory of Newegg prices... When Ivy Bridge CPUs were released, the Sandy Bridge i5-2500k dropped $5 from it's original price of $225 down to $220. The Ivy Bridge i5-3570k was priced $240 if I an not mistaken.

The i5-3570k is currently priced at $220. It may drop to $215 and I would guess the Haswell i5-4670k will be priced between $235 and $240. Of course if there is a huge demand for Haswell CPUs then retailers will raise prices above Intel's MSRP to cash in on the demand.

Don't wait. Build now. Buy the i7 3770k for $229 at Micro Center and don't look back. Haswell won't even support DDR4 for regular consumers, only server/enterprise variant. Z77 already supports PCI-E 3.0, USB 3.0 and SATA 6 GB/s. What else could you possibly need?

You can buy a nice 970 series mobo for ~$80-90 (Asrock 970 extreme3 or Asus M5A97). For something comparable to an i5, if you're going to overclock, look at the FX6300 for $112, if you're not going to overclock, look at the FX8320 or FX8350 for $159 and $179. Any of those 3 will run a tight race with the i5 you're looking at.

Additionally...as Jaguarskx pointed out, Ivy bridge won't drop in price much, if any, and haswell will be a little more expensive. You're right to be concerned about prices of mobos with intel, they're usually about $30-50 more expensive than comparable AMD mobos with the same features.

AMD is a great product, especially on a budget. Save yourself $80 over the intel setup in CPU and mobo and spend that money on a better GPU like a HD 7870XT for $235.

An intel core i7 3770k for $229? If that deal is still around in june i'm definitely grabbing that.

Will that i7 last me for years to come? I'll be more than happy to get some extra money for an i7. Never seen one that cheap before.

Otherwise, I'm building around the time haswell comes out anyways. If the motherboards are around the same price I'll go with haswell. Otherwise I can grab the I7.

So is this motherboard sufficient enough for an intel core i7? Not looking to OC or run dual gpus again. https://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-h77m

If the i7 can last me for years to come as far as gaming goes I'll grab that.

I believe the "M" version of the H77 board is a micro ATX/mini ITX form factor board...are you looking for a small board specifically? Because most mid tower cases have alot of room in them for the normal ATX motherboards.

Additionally...I believe you need a Z77 motherboard for the i7. Wait, you're not overclocking? Nevermind then.

Yeah i'll grab a z77 asus for $100 to make sure then.

Aside from that, would an i5 3570k be sufficient for the coming years? I don't wanna upgrade for like 5 more years as far as motherboard and cpu goes. I5 on microcenter has a good bundle with z77 board for $240. The i7 with an $100 board would be like $330.

Yeah, don't get the Asrock H77m.I bought it about 2 months ago for my first build and I am already wanting to upgrade.

-You can't OC a CPU w/ this board.(From what I've seen/heard)
-Only 1 PCIe x16 3.0 slot
--1 more PCIe x4 2.0
-Only 2 RAM slots.
--16gb maximum

The primary selling point for me was the price.I built my PC on a budget, roughly $450.
Get the z77.More RAM slots and you can CrossfireX 2 GPUs to their max. potential.

According to wikipedia the Haswell processors will actually be cheaper than the Ivy Bridge cpus atm.
For example, the 4670 is $209.
ATM the 3570 is $215.
Just thought I'd say this

Since you are going to build something after the Haswel hits the stores, you will have plenty of time and a lot of benchmarks to compare and decide which fits for your needs.

Btw an early benchmark that i saw on the web says that the performance is around 6-10% not that a big deal over haswell, then again lower watt consumption and better onboard gpu makes them ideal for laptops and maybe tablets.
