Double 12v rail PSU

Solution
Better ;).
My concern was that it would have high outputs on the +5 and +3.3 volt lines, which would mark it as being a old design with, as I said, PCI-E cables just tacked on.
I do n't think it is in the same league as a top level part but it should do the job.
Looks like you are good to go, mate, enjoy the 7870!

Just a a last question, can I handle a bigger power hungry gfx, as the 7950 or 7970? or just the 7870?

No, you'll better with a new powerful/bigger PSU, just like coozie7 said before:
"it have high outputs on the +5 and +3.3 volt lines, which would mark it as being a old design with", so you'll better upgrade it before using high end card like HD7950 or higher.. :)
