CX500 Will it handle my rig?

Hello i was wondering if the cx500 can handle the fx-6300 OC to 4.2 and a 7950 OC. I only have 1 hard drive, three fans, no ODD. Is it OK? Thanks

With the fx-6300 OCd and the 7950 OCd, probably not. It would be safe to go up in excess of about 100w. Try the Corsair CX600. It's heavily on sale at Newegg, with it being only $38 after a $20 MIR.

Technically yes it should work. The Corsair cx500 isn't really all that great of a PSU. (not actually made by corsair or seasonic like other Corsair's). I would get the xfx550 pro. It is made by seasonic and is a very high quality unit.

That's the power consumption of the card alone. That also doesn't count the OC you added, which could easily add another 50w to the power consumption.

No, he is right that is the total system. The cx500 will power it without an issue.
However, if you can afford it I would get a little better quality unit like the one suggested by tiny. I would take a seasonic made unit over a CWT any day.
