Hi i have a Fujistu Siemens Scaleo P Desktop PC which will not POST! I have ran through the usual checks ie; I have checked the PSU in a known working computer and its fine, I have checked the CPU and it also works in a another computer, I am unable to check the RAM due to it being DDR and my other PC using DDR2. I have tried booting with no RAM and I get 1 long beep 2 short beeps ( which is ASUS code for no RAM) I have tried re-seating the RAM in multiple variations (cleaned all of them as well as the DIMM slots) still nothing! I am assuming that because the mobo beeps to tell me there is no RAM present that the mobo is fine (correct me if im wrong) The only thing I can think of is bad RAM! It has 2 Samsung DDR 400 PC3200 sticks 512mb and also had 1 1gb DDR 400 PC3200 stick (cant remember the make) I just cant see all 3 sticks being bad at the same time!

In case you need to know the here is a list of the components I can remember;

ASUS P5GD1-FM/S Motherboard
Intel Pentium 4 CPU
2x Samsung DDR 400 PC3200 RAM
1x 1gb DDR 400 PC3200 RAM
Don't know make of PSU but its 350watt
Western Digital 250gb HDD
Hitachi DVD-R Drive

Already done that! tried every stick in every variation it can go! I have also tried it with just the CPU, GPU and RAM, even tried without the GPU but same thing!

Correct me if im wrong but I didn't think a bad mobo would emit a beep code when no RAM was present! I had a mobo die on my old PC and that didn't beep with no RAM and would power off after 3-5 seconds of being powered on, this one stays powered until I power it off! I suppose im just going to have to pick up a cheap RAM to test for certain!

try the self psu test.

Plug a fan into the PSU molex connector, and use a paper clip to connect the green 24 pin connector to one of the blacks. If it works fine, then its the motherboard like I initially said.
