Would this be good memory for the a10 5800k?

Check the suported memory clocks on your motherboard support website and your apus aswell.
the higher DD3 memory clock the better will your IGPU will preform, as it uses DD3 for memory bandwith.

What are your full specs?
No, do not OC on stock cooling.

The faster the RAM the better the iGPU performs. So get faster RAM depending on the mobo you have or want to get.

Here the components i will be getting:

CPU: AMD A10-5800k
MOBO: ASUS F2A55-M LK2 PLUS
WIFI ADAPTER: TP-LINK USB ADAPTER
RAM: G.SKILL SNIPER 8GB 1600 (12800CL9D-SR2) 2x4 or KINGSTON HYPERX GENESIS 8GB 1866 (1866C9D3K2/8GX) 2x4
HDD: SEAGATE 500GB
CASE: COOLERMASTER ELITE 343
PSU: ANTEC BP430 430W
OS: WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM 64 bit
DVD: SAMSUNG DVD WRITER (770php) 2

ASUS F2A55-M LK2 PLUS
You can not OC on that motherboard, the A55 chipset does not allow overclocking. Get a A75 chipset board.

You mean i cant oc my memory? Or the cpu and igpu? Cos on its main page, asus has TurboV and GPU boost which i think are the overclocking features of the mobo: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/F2A55M_LK_PLUS/

Real overclocking is done in the BIOS. Thos functions are used to tweak the CPU and iGPU to run at its optimum speed, NOT to OC.

YOu can not truly OC the CPU or iGPU on an A55 chipset. You can OC the RAM however.

Oh damn... What about this mobo? MSI FM2-A85XMA-P33 http://eu.msi.com/product/mb/FM2-A85XMA-P33.html

At a minimum, you want 1866MHz. Sometimes, 1866 is priced reasonably close to 2133MHz RAMs.

This is from Xbit, I believe.

From the testing I have done, in order to taken advantage of the higher graphics clock, you also need fast RAMs --- bumping the clock with lower speed RAMs can sometimes actually ding performance below that from a stock iGPU clock.

Were these benchmarks testen on stock cpu and gpu speeds? No overclocking?

Its around the same price as an a75. Idk why. Do I need to oc my cpu and igpu to get good framerates off this system? And also, are kingston hyperx genesis' overclockable?

Well if its the same price, get it then.

As for framerates, what games are you looking to play and at what resolution?

All RAM can be OCd, but its risky and difficult, better to get the faster MHz RAM you can afford even if it has higher latencies.

Im planning to play games like minecraft, bf3, far cry 3, sc2, wow, maybe crysis 3, etc. on 720p since ill be getting an 18 inch monitor for my bday (hopefully) but for now, ill be playing games on my old monitor (1024x768 sadface).

I hope the HyperXs are overclockable since they are kingston's top tier memory (i think).

Hmmm for most of those games you should much rather NOT get an APU, they are not meant for games like Far Cry 3 and Battlefield 3 and Crysis 3. You need a decent discreet GPU to play those games.

Lets start from scratch...

I know what you mean. But ive seen the a10 run the above games quite well on low to mid settings (which im perfectly fine since im coming from a console) and also, ive heard that this thing is competing with the core i3. Nuff said. 25-40 fps is very playable for me, just so you know. :)

Its competitive in CPU performance, it does well with a discreet GPU, but its onboard iGPU is not meant for gaming triple A titles....

"If you're able to spend an extra $100 on a discrete GPU you'll get better performance, but below that Trinity rules"

http://www.anandtech.com/show/6332/amd-trinity-a10-5800k-a8-5600k-review-part-1/9

If you are happy with extremely low setting then so be it.

Keep in mind these benches are done under BEST CASENARIO. So that means that this is average FPS on a benchmark run, NOT in a 64 player map with 64 players firing grenades and tanks and choppers and hundreds of things going on at the same time.

But as I said, if you are happy, then so be it.

I never thought of that. Ill see what I can do with my budget.
