Workstation and Gaming GPU together?

hey, so I have a radeon HD 7870 for playing my games, but I have now mobed onto more things like 3d rendering, and I was wondering if I could get a little firepro GPU for stuff like that, just like a $70 one. If I put them both in my computer at the same time, could I possibly switch between GPU's?

Interesting notion... Never heard of this being done...

My 2cents input, that low cost Firepro will not perform better in workstation workloads, BUT it will be more precise and reliable.

Whatever configuration you end up with. may I suggest a Quadro instead of he Firepro.

Why? He has an AMD already, trying to drop an Nvidia card in will just make things even more difficult.

Why??? Because I've used both. I have no idea what "difficulties" you envision. Both are manufactured to the same PCI spec. Only a driver change is required and that's a good thing because AMD/ATI drivers have always been buggy.

Difficulties of having one AMD and one Nvidia card in a system? DO I have to explain this? Really?
