I want to use a car stereo connected to the"house" battery in my RV. I need to know how many hours the car audio unit would take to discharge the battery.

It all depends on you car radio. You can measure the current drawn under "normal circumstances". Divide your battery' capacity (given in Ah - Amper-hours), and you will get a ball-park figure.

I would invest in small solar panel to power your radio during the day.

Probably a few hours, but it all depends on how good your battery is. I would look into alternative routes, like a tripath amplifier driven by a portable am/fm radio. You can set something up that will run off an amp or less, meaning it will likely run a whole day or more easily on a charge.

Most of the mainstream aftermarket radios will pull the same, so it really depends on your battery. A few hours seem about right, though; but I would look into other alternatives. Solar panels are getting pretty popular with RVs.
