motherboard/video card compatibility

Im building a under $600 gaming comp for my son and what I was wanting to know if the sapphire 7770 ghz 1gb video card work with a asrock970 Extreme 3 mobo?I was really curious about the 1gb ddr 5 on the card if it will work on the board.

Video cards and motherboards tend to be pretty compatible across the board. Unless you have a VERY old motherboard or a VERY old graphics card, the PCI-E slots and cards are designed to be backwards compatible with each other about 95% of the time. So no worries, those two will play fine together.

RAM and CPUs are picky, but GPU's are easy-going.
