Hi.

I am a novice PC builder and although I have a healthy budget I would like to ask whether the following components and specs are compatible and moreover, able to run games such as Medal of Honour, Need for Speed etc smoothly and quickly with quality graphics. Please bear in mind that I am not an experienced builder, so I apologise for my lack of knowledge.

AMD FX-8350 Vishera 8 Core 4.0GHz Processor
Asus M5A78L-M USB3 HDMI Motherboard
8GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM Memory
Gigabyte 7950 3GB AMD Radeon (900MHz)
Seagate 2TB Barracuda HDD
Windows 7 Pro (64 bit)
LG 16x SATA Blu Ray / DVD Writer
Corsair 800w Gaming PSU
AMD CPU Cooler

Thanks so much! : )

advice: Great build! like one of mine.
my only niggling complaint would be to get an aftermarket cpu cooler. for only $20-$30 or £10-£20 you can pick up a great cooler that will be much quieter and much better. the reason for this is that the amd cpu cooler is designed for 55w-95w processors, and the fx-8350 is 125w and as a result terriblly hot. amd cooler will work, but the fan will be loud.

also power suply is a bit over the top, 700w is enough even for high-end sli

I would second Rugnir_Viking's suggestion on an aftermarket cooler.

In addition, if you haven't already purchased the parts, I would get 1600MHz or even 1866MHz RAM. The 1333MHz will hold back that processor a bit, especially if you decide to overclock at some point down the road.

true but i have never seen evidence for 1333mhz vs 1600 making much difference for gaming bar overclocking and someone not thinking of a aftermarket cooler wont think of/shouldnt overclock
