Specs:
GPU: GTX 550 Ti
CPU: AMD FX-6100 @ 3.3 GHz
Motherboard: ASRock N68-VS3 FX (CPUSocket)
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
Alright so basically when playing ANY video game my FPS (frames per second for people who don't know) will be at their normal high at around 100-200 (Team Fortress 2) and then suddenly drop to about 10-40. Also when I stream it gets much much worse. I bought my computer pre built from Best Buy and I don't know what could be causing these problems. My CPU will be at 46 Celsius, my GPU at 60 Celsius, and my motherboard at 54 Celsius. I've had this FPS drop problem for a long time and i have dusted the inside of my computer before but it does not help. I'd appreciate it so much if someone could assist me. Thank you.

There may not be enough air flow in the rig.
You need to add about 2 internal fans, if not already.
The temps are not that high but they should be a bit lower.

A picture of the innards would be helpful.

If the maximum resolution of the monitor is only 1440 x 900 then the framrate set by you cannot be maintained for any period of time.
You'd need a HD monitor.
Check the Display utility and the refresh rate, you may find the refresh rate not going higher than 75mhz, perhaps, and that you are setting the FPS in the game options.
What is your monitor brand/model?

I've noticed in my Nvidia Display panel that I can choose between HD and PC mode.
HD mode is fixed at 60 hz at only the Native resolution whereas PC mode can up to as high as 200 hz but dependant on the resolution.

[strike]Edit - Make and model of the monitor.[/strike]

According to the spec sheet, this motherboard is not really Windows 7 compliant, even though Asrock have added to the list, it's VISTA!
The onboard 12v socket is only 4 pin, the max ram is 8gb.

1 x PCI Express x16 slot, the GTX 550 Ti requires PCI-E 2.0 x 16

Alright so through further observation of my computer i've noticed that my PSU's fan is facing downwards in the case so there is no airflow there. I'm thinking that might be the cause of my frames dropping, i'm attaching some pics of the insides and a close up of the PSU itself.

What is the purpose of all those molex connectors? Fans? Disconnect them. You don't need them, they are drawing power away from your supply. Your motherboard is the smallest one I've ever seen! You've got enough air flow in that case that would put a windmill to shame.

Once you disconnect those molex adapters, your FPS will be stable.

The white molex connectors. You also don't need that side panel fan. You got that humugous CPU fan cooler, that is enough for the whole rig.

At least try it and then see the results.

Edit -
The fan at the back near the CPU, is not a CPU cooler fan, it's a molex connected fan. You don't need it. there are so many holes (vent holes) in your case it would put the Swiss cheese maker to shame, I wish I could think of better analogies lol

Your motherboard is so small it would be way too big for a tablet PC lol
I'd love to know the original case model that had this motherboard.

The cpu fan is stock standard for a cpu back in 2002.

Just do it, the molex connectors draw a lot of watts especially when they are on the same cable line. You don't need those older fans, just one recent model that connects to the motherboard CHA_FAN (Chassis Fan)

Your CPU fan, is it a screw in one to the heatsink? If so, that is really old 2002 thing. The heat sink does not look like it's more than 1/2 an inch high.

Check the PC health temps in the bios. Report back here with those temps.

Sorry about the jokes so I'll joke one for myself -"I'm so forgetful that I've been advised to keep an elephant as a pet" :)

All of the white ones. how else to explain it? what else do you have connected with those white connectors?

Edit -
Methinks your cable line (from PSU to hdd) for the hard drive does not reach as far as the hard drive so you used a molex connector to molex so you could add that rear fan and panel fan as well as an extension molex to sata connector to get to the hard drive.

Just join the hard drive connector, forget about those fans, for now.
