Cannot connect HDD power cable

After months of research, I decided to start my first build today.

The only problem that I have ran into is the power connection for my WD Black 500GB desktop HDD.

For some reason the SATA power cable from my XFX Pro550W PSU will not connect to the hard drive. I have tried several SATA cables, but the problem remains.

Any thoughts?

Have you tried using all the SATA cables?
For some strange reason, I had the same problem with my first build. After trying all the sata cables provided, I found some that fit. Not sure if I didn't use enough force to push it in or something was wrong.

The power cable feels like it is caught some where in the middle of the connection. Both sides feel like they can fit.

I have tried several different cables, while applying around 5 lbs. of force, with no luck.
