Hello,
my wife and I noticed that when we were playing the video game Phantasy Star Online 2, our CPU's were giving a weird temperature reading. The temp that CUPID gave on both of our machines was 105C.

We found it quite odd since the second we quit the game, the temperature dropped from 105C to 35~37C within a matter of seconds.

We don't get any other readings that high, even when playing Battlefield 3 on High Settings.

Both of our computers are the same:
Case: NZXT Phantom 410
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB
MB: ASUS P8Z77-V LK
GPU: EVGA GTX 660 Ti 2GB FTW Signature2
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K (Not OC'd)
CPU Cooler: Thermaltake Frio Overclocking-Ready
OS: Windows 7
Case Fans: APEVIA 140mm+120mm fans

any ideas anyone? Just tried it again and it jumped to 105C then exited and went down to normal idle temps. GPU temps are running fine. I'm wondering if it could just be some error in CPUID and the CPU isn't really running that hot. Not experiencing any lag at all.

105c for a cpu is very dangerous, wow i hope it's just some type of error.

I would try another monitoring program with that game and first see if its just some type of error maybe.

If your cpu is really getting to 105C i highly advise to not play that game at all until you have this sorted out
