Change laptop CPU

Solution

It's possible, but generally Laptops ship with only one CPU supported by BIOS/UEFI. You could swap like-for-like, but I guess that's not what you want! You could try looking at the BIOS details for the different model numbers, if these are exactly the same, it might be worth a try. If you have an i3 compare the BIOS with that of a model with an i7 for instance... a lot of work and expense if it fails, though...

Ty, but I was going to put a QM-processor(ie. 3620QM) Where did you find the bios?

That's the S550 CB. Had a quiet word with Asus Tech, and they agreed to not recommend on the grounds that not only would there be the BIOS consideration, but major differences in wattage, cooling arrangements, and even Motherboards... so I guess, as I suspected, it's a no-no!
I imagine the ULV CPUs in the Vivobooks will require completely different environments to the QM range.
