Hi everyone : )

As you may know I am hoping to build a fast gaming PC which will be able to play low and high demanding games smoothly as well as other taxing programmes. Are the following components compatible and if I can improve some areas or save some money I would be very grateful for your advice. I've decided to go for a 23'' monitor even though I was initially thinking of a 27'' - my sister recently bought a 27'' all-in-one iMac and I feel that the screen is much too big for my liking. I was also weighing the possibility of buying an AMD FX8350 but I think that I would like to go for the i5. Also, is the graphics card good enough, and is it necessary to include the SSD?

8GB Corsair Vengeance LP DDR3 1600MHz
2TB Seagate Barracuda ST2000DMO1 SATA III HDD
250GB Samsung 840 Series SATA-III
Power Color Radeon HD 7970 DGGR5
Asus Blu-Ray Internal Combo Drive
Asus Xonar Essence STX 24-Bit 192 KHz Sound Card
Corsair TX750V2 Enthusiast Series 750W (?)
Arctic Cooling Freezer (13 High Performance CPU Cooler)
TP-Link TL-WDN48000 802.11a/b/n PCI-Express x1 Wi-Fi Adapter

Thanks everybody (once again!) : )

Seems like a good build, though I'd change some things about it.

- The power supply is overkill for this system. A good 550W psu will do the trick. If you're planning any upgrades like a second graphics card, keep it in.
- The Blu-Ray drive, do you really need it? I find myself hardly using my external drive.
- Cpu cooler, go for something like the Scythe Mugen 3. You've got a CPU capable of overclocking, so get a cooler that can keep it cool on those higher speeds.

As for the SSD, it's a luxury product, but worth it in my opinion.

-case is huge for what you are putting inside. get the phantom 410 or a case like the fractal arc midi series
-the asus pb238q is just as good for cheaper.
-pick up the cheapest 2x4gb 1600mhz cl9 kit of memory you can find on pcpartpicker
-a plextor m5s 256gb is cheaper and faster
-id suggest a gigabyte windforce 7970 instead
-dont get the STX unless you have proper headphones to make use of them
-a xfx 550w is enough if you are only running 1 card. if not, id suggest a xfx 750w gold for the same price as the tx series. way better unit any day
-get a phanteks tc12dx cooler instead. cools quite a bit better.

all parts that i suggest can be found on pcpartpicker
