Speed Depending on HDD

Hi I have an old 160 GB HDD Divided into partitions C: AND D:, C: Has a 50gb free space while D: has only 500 MB, I put My games in D:. Will my games speed up if I replace HDD or it won;t matter because the free spaces are in C:?

Sorry for noob question.

That's right, comparing a 1TB and a 3TB disk for example, but i just saw a significant increase on an older system just by changing the very slow 160GB disk.
