Hi guys. Recently im planning to buy these systems

i5 3470 3.2ghz
gigabyte b75m-d3h
ati radeon 5770
Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz 4+4GB ram
Thermaltake Litepower 500w Black Edition

so, is this psu safe for running this configuration?

and i also have a SATA hard disk 80gb which is SATA 1.0. can i run this hard disk on that mobo without any problem?

Thank you.

sata 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 are compatible with each other

so your sata 1.0 hdd will work without any problem

Thermaltake Litepower 500w Black Edition is also good, even corsair cx430 or vs-450 is also enough for this configuration even for overclocking

The Thermaltake Litepower 500w Black Edition (LT-500) is made by Solytech. It should be avoided. Its 2 year warranty is shorter than the industry standard 3 year warranty and is an indication of the reliability that Thermaltake places on the product.

Any power supply made by Allied, Apex, Deer, L & C Technology, Solytech, Supercase is on the avoid list. They're different brands under the same parent company. They have earned a bad reputation because when the power supply blows up it will also destroy the other components attached to it like the motherboard, graphics card, hard disk drive, etc.

For a system using a single Radeon HD 5770 graphics card AMD specifies a minimum of a 450 Watt or greater system power supply. The power supply should also have a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 24 Amps or greater and have at least one 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connector.

You're better off getting a 450W PSU from a reputable brand like Antec, Corsair, Enermax, Seasonic or XFX than to get an awful 500W PSU from a not so reputable brand that may lack the appropriate protection circuits and have poor reliability.

SATA3 and SATA2 ports are fully backward compatible with SATA1 devices.
