Cant connect to tv

Iv bought a pc and i first connected it via hdmi but i want to switch to vga cable but my tv has found the vga but its not displaying the picture
Any help would be great

If the tv is the only display, it should be showing up with the vga cable, but there's no reaason to use vga anyway. HDMI is better because it connects video and audia, which vga won't do.
