Circuit breaker/Fuse for USB?

Is there any circuit breaker/fuse that can prevent short circuits in USB ports that occur when connecting faulty equipments? Like maybe an extension wire with a fuse in the midway or something like that?

i suppose you could make one...wouldn't be too hard really, i just don't know if it would realistically serve its purpose. i mean, who's to know what amperage of fuse you would need to prevent shorts? 2 amps? 10 amps? i'd have no idea...but anyway, you could pretty easily make one from parts found at any self-respecting radioshack. fuse, in line fuse holder, heat shrink, electrical tape, usb extension cable (the expensive part).
