Hey guys, my friend and I are sitting here putting my computer together as we speak and we have run into a problem. We have everything hooked up and when we power on the computer it won't stay on. It runs about 10-15 seconds and then powers back down. Any idea why this might be happening? This is the first computer I've built myself and I am clueless. Thanks in advance for any help.

If it powers on and off and on it the mb trying to set the ram speed. Try posting with one dimm and the update the bios. If the system powers on then off there a dead short or missing power cable. Start with the case standoffs make sure the mb not grounding out there. Also look for any drop screws or the io shield fingers shorting out the bottom of the mb or the USB port. The last make sure the four/eight pin pci power plug next to the CPU is connected.
