I'm considering a mini-ITX build just for the fun/experience. I could easily use all of my current components except for my motherboard and case. I've pretty much been decided on the BitFenix Prodigy (not sure which color yet) for awhile, but I'm debating on which of these two motherboards I would go with.
Comparison @Newegg
The GB motherboard has several features that are advantageous over the ASRock and vise versa. Basically, it boils down to two things:
1) Is the difference between Realtek ALC892 and Realtek ALC898 worth anything at all? Probably not, but I mean, bigger numbers are always better, right? :)
2) Although only the ASRock motherboard is clearly specified as
Supports Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 Technology
Supports Intel K-Series unlocked CPU
Supports Hyper-Threading Technology
does not the GB motherboard also support these features?

Thanks in advance!

1.about the realtek versions probably its not significantly important, usually nobody cares about audio that much, if you care about audio quality or going to use professional stuff, you'd better go for a dedicated board anyway.

2.gigabyte board supports all those stuff already, just like its competent board asrock. and i believe gigabyte is slightly better, old and reliable company. where asrock is kind of new kid in the block.

if i were you i would go for asus/gigabyte, if you cant then go for msi/asrock

i believe that asus and gigabyte are market leaders and have better quality products. the reason i like gigabyte is that they use extra layer of copper on their pcb's which lets you have better heat dissipation and longer life span, its good and effective if you are willing to o/c.

update: all Z77 serie chips support those features btw...

good luck

I don't care about audio professionally, I just wasn't sure if either version happened to be "a version so awful it should have never been created" or something weird like that :p

And I know people hate ASRock, but all my motherboards have been ASRock and my experience has been great :)

I think I'll go with the Gigabyte just because the built-in wifi is pretty cool and it's cheaper anyways. Thanks!
