I built a computer recently and after one day of use it switches off without warning.
Asus crosshair v formula
Amd fx-8350
16gb corsair vengeance
700watts corsair psu

Can someone help me with this problem?

Once cold, does it power up again or is it dead? If it shutdown without warning, but it works again once cold, then your CPU or another component like the GPU may have overheated. If it no longer works at all, start by checking the PSU (or use another one for testing purposes).

When it shuts down the led lights on the motherboard still light up, and the only way you can turn it back on is by switching off the psu or by unplugging the psu cable and plugin in it back in. I tried running it without hard drive, graphics card and i even installed different ram and had another heatsink fitted but it still shuts down for no reason. The last time it did this i was having a look at the temperature of the CPU and it saif it was 35 degrees and it still shut down.

I just tried it with a different psu and it just shut down after about 20 seconds.

Ther CPU runs really hot, you need a really good cooler for it as well as internal fans.

The Asus site doesn't have a spec sheet for the motherboard (it doesn't show) so here are the specs from elsewhere -
http://www.pureoverclock.com/Review-detail/combo-review-amd-vishera-fx-8350-asus-crosshair-v-formula-z-rog/5/

The PCIe slot is only verison 2.0 so a version 3.0 video card would revert to a slower speed bandwidth reducing its performance.

It's a rather small motherboard and you might be using a rather small case, it could be that airflow is an issue.

The motherboard has a "Start" and "Reset" button on it, for testing purposes like breadboarding, you should consider using them to see if your system boots, it might be that your Power button connector (on the case) is the wrong type, usually they are 2-pins but some older cases have a 3-pin connector.

Edit -
The Asus UK site has the QVL lists and specs -

What speed, voltage is your ram?

If possible could you post a pic of your PC case innards?

Sorry but I havent got a good camera on my phone so the pictures won't look that great.
Here is a list of my components
Corsair GS700 PSU
Corsair 300R Case
Corsair 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1600Mhz CL9 RAM
EVGA GeForce GT 210 520MHz 1GB Grapgics Card
Corsair H80i Liquid cooler
Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z

All these parts are new and i was having this problem before i installed the 16gb ram and before i had the h80i cooler installed.
And i have tried using the start and reset button but they dont work after the pc shuts down with the gs700 but they do work with another psu. But then it shut down again.

The case looks alright although I suspect you wouldn't be bothered with running the cables under the motherboard, I certainly wouldn't but only because the 24 pin connector cabling would interfere with rear of the cd/dvd drive, as well as the hdd bays. I'd rather have the cabling running over the top however, by the look of the case (see image form Corsair Site) it looks rather slim and the side may not be able to accommodate loose cabling.

Edit - the side panel has vents to which you could have added a fan but then the side panel would not fit back on to the case, the fan being blocked by the PSU. The back panel of the case makes no allowances for extra fans but the top of the case looks like a vent that you might be able to add fans however, I'd hate to put one there, I usally have stuff stacked on my PC, and, also, if not anything on the top, dust particles and dribble slops :( would affect the fans.

Most of my cables are behind the motherboard, I tried to make look as neat as possible. The picture that you posted does look like the inside of my pc and the h80i is placed on the exact same place.
