If you're set on AMD I'll leave that alone, but I would recommend http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131484. It will give you better performance than a 7870 and it's on sale for $230. I would also look at a WD Black instead of the green, unless you're planning to put them in a RAID.

I was planning on making it a RAID, so don't worry about it. How is the PowerColor compared to the Sapphire, other than price, because i don't know a thing about that brand or card.

for a 1000$ rig you got one crappy CPU man. id recommend atleast a core i5-3570K or FX 8300. you wont need 16GB.8 GB is enough future proof , 16 is just insane for a gaming rig atleast. video card is good. but if you decide to spend 60 bucks on RAM insted of 120 id say get a geforce GTX 670. it will be more future proof.

The one I linked is a 7870 XT, so it is based on the GPU in the 7950, just scaled back some. The sapphire in your original list is an actual 7870, which uses a smaller chip. It's kind a dumb way of naming them, since that powercolor is more of a 2 GB 7950 than anything related to the 7870.

Get a 6300 cpu way more powerful for same price. You are also spending WAY too much on ram. 8gb 1600mhz ram is the sweet spot nowadays. Just buy a 64gb ssd now instead of two 32gb and save a good $20. The gpu the guy above me suggested is also really good. Idk what you are doing but 2tb of storage is a TON!! Unless you are planning to store everything under the sun knock it down to 1tb or 500gb. Also look at the cooler master enforcer case. Its a beauty and high quality. If i remember right the case you picked wasnt rated quite as good but the case is minor so just buy the best looking one

That's what i was thinking about the RAM, so i will probably get 8 gigabytes of ram, and upgrade to 16 when i can. I kind of kill space... but since i already have one, i'll just probably use the empty 2TB hard drive i currently have, and add more later, and get the 64GB SSD. And about the case, i don't like that case, but i will still keep on looking for cases until i actually buy it, but probably will buy it in the end.

Will downgrade to 8GB of ram, just for sake of price, and rethinking the CPU, so thanks for the recommendation.

Wait a sec. You just changed that to an a10 apu? Thats even worse! If i remember right it is based on the old athlon cpus. You will get 7850 performance out of your 7950 because of such a bottleneck. Get bare minimum a fx6300
Btw with the PSU overkill is great as you can see with my build i did the same. Just trying to help get best bang for the buck but since you have the extra by all means get the one you picked as it will last for years after the rest of any build

Thanks, was looking at that one but didn't pick that one. Changed, and thanks for all your help. Good so far?
