FX 8350 vs. Intel i5 2500k?

Note: price isn't that much of an issue.

I'm going to use it for games like MicroVolts, LoL etc, homework, facebook, youtube (the ussual internet browsing basically)

For about the same price, get the Intel Core i5-3570K. I have no idea what game MicroVolts is.

Thing is that I can get the 8350 for $170 altough if it's really THAT much of a difference I guess I could buy the 3570k.

3570k is faster for gaming. I believe it wins ~9/10 times against the 8350.

For Microvolts specifically, the difference is very small.

The 3570K is worth an extra 20-30$. Any more, and, if budget is a big deal, the difference isnt that big.

Either way, 2500K is the eay to go. MicroVolts doesmt use more than 2 cores.

Buy the cheaper CPU. Both will do what you need. And maybe even overkill.

Most games are GPU-intensive, not CPU-intensive. Just get the cheaper one and upgrade your GPU.
