Graphics Resolution Trick

I just got a HDMI compatible card and i hooked it up to my 22' HDMI TV to just have a bigger monitor but when i go to change my settings for the screen resolution it will not let me go high enough is there anyway i can trick my computer in to thinking it can so i can run at the right resolution?

Specs
Card: Radeon HD6670
TV: Sylvania Mo#LC225SL9
Computer: Dell Xps 600 Windows XP

Yes sorry did not catch the foot thing it is in inches and its resolution should be ran at 1680x1050
