Evo not bringing temperature down very much

I purchased a Hyper 212 Evo today in hopes of eliminating the loud buzzing sound from my stock cooler and overclocking. The annoying noise is gone but in comparison to most of the benchmarks, my CPU seems to be running quite a bit hotter. I tried overclocking my Phenom II X4 965 to 3.8 at 1.4v but the temperatures are worrying me. It runs at around 44c when idle and comes close to or sometimes even surpasses 60c with prime95. Are these temperatures normal?

I will mention that I currently only have 1 exhaust fan and no other case fans if that might affect my temperature dramatically.

If you are 44C at idle, unless you have an incredibly hot room then I would say the paste isn't on right or the cooler is not tight.

As said before you can remove the side panel. if that lowers the temp appreciably it is a airflow issue, but at idle that shouldn't matter that much.

I used the stock thermal paste, put a dot the size of a pea in the middle, pressed down hard, and squeezed it around a bit to get a more even coating. Screws are as tight as I can get them.

Note, I actually have 2 temperatures. The CPU is at around 43 now but the cores all seem to be idling around 36. Perhaps the benchmarks were done with the core temps.
