Similar cpu names between AMD and Intel

Anyone else notice that AMD and intel kind of use similar looking names for their cpus? Look at the Phenom II 900 series and Core i7 900 series. There is a Phenom II x4 965 and a Core i7 965. And check out the AMD APU names. A4, A6, A8, A10. Notice how the name is a single letter next to a number like intel's i3, i5, and i7? And Look at the APU model numbers. A8-3870K, A8 5600K. It looks similar to models like 2500k and 3770k from intel. And Notice how AMD makes their numbers higher. A4 vs i3, A6 vs i5, A8 vs i7. And then AMD also has A10. And names like 3870K look a lot more impressive next to 3770K, Although the i7 3770K would wipe the floor with the A8-3870K.

Just something I was thinking about and wanted to see what other people think about it.. If anything.

I know. I'm not saying I have a problem with the way they are naming their products. I'm just saying I notice how similar the model numbers are between them. Like.. 3870K and 3770K sound like they are from the same line of cpu's and the 3870K sounds better.
